We typically run group training on Mountainbike all year round.

Mountain bike training sessions

At BICM you can train MTB all year round, whether you’re into “tons and trail blast for men” or a less rigorous ride in great company with the “Hyggeholdet.”

There are several reasons why our members choose to ride MTB. Some do it to maintain their fitness over the winter, while others ride because they want to develop their technique and improve motor skills. With MTB training, you can do it all: technique training with a focus on balance and skills, but also tough intervals that increase heart rate and leave you dripping with sweat!

Training takes place even in the winter, where we ride with lights in the darkness. If you haven’t tried it before, racing along forest paths with shadows everywhere is a fun experience that really sharpens all your senses.

MTB sessions take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays throughout the year. The rides usually start and end at our clubhouse at Kærhusvej 4, 7190 Billund, but sometimes we organize trips to other trails outside of Billund. However, our “home turf” is Frederikshåb and the trail in Grene Sande.

Why we ride MTB in BICM

In recent years, cycling has become increasingly popular in Denmark, and in Billund it is no different from the rest of the country. We are members who have been riding together for a number of years and we have some who have only recently joined.

What we all have in common is that we come to the club to have fun – and we think you should try it with us.

What equipment should I have

The bike

You set the standard. We have no expectations of what you’ll be wearing – but make sure the bike can handle the terrain.

What to wear

Our only requirement is that you choose cycling pants with a pad for your own safety – and clothes that can withstand dirt.

What is the pace?

n BICM, we drive TOGETHER. No one rides out and gets left behind in the woods. The Hygge team rides so everyone can join in. To keep up with the other teams, you need to be in relatively good shape.

Safety is paramount to us, and we always keep an eye on whether everyone is on board and understands how to get around the terrain.

Useful information

Always bring the following, whether it’s for training or you want to race.

  • Helmet & cell phone
  • Weather-appropriate clothes
  • Good lights in case of darkness
  • Extra tube in case of a puncture
  • Pump and/or CO2 cartridge

Road bike

We train in different groups so that all can have fun at their individual level.

MTB & Youth

We offer year-round MTB training for all ages, with groups for adults (16+ years old) as well as children (7+ years old).

Races & Trips

We organize local MTB races and tours throughout the year and travel to participate in various races across the country.
